Could I benefit from a microbiome analysis?

Are you sick and tired of your gut ruling your life? Suffer from annoying symptoms that affect your daily routines? Restricting your diet to eliminate more and more foods?

You’re not alone. According to the charity GutsUK 43%-58% of the UK population suffer with regular digestive discomfort and unfortunately 60% of people in the UK feel too embarrassed to talk about their gut health and as a result do not seek help.

If you feel you may fit into this statistic and feel you are too embarrassed to talk to anyone about your issues, please be reassured that there is nothing to be embarrassed about and it is important to seek medical help where necessary, such as when you see an extreme change in bowel habits (for you) or blood in stools.

If you have ruled out any medical concerns but are still left wondering what is going on then working with me may help you. We will need to talk about gut symptoms, colours, consistencies and frequencies in order to gain an understanding of what could really be going on. And you dont even have to have gut symptoms for your gut to be playing havoc with your health. Many conditions have close links with the gut including autoimmune disorders, skin and hair conditions, hormone imbalances and thyroid health. Stress also has a huge impact on your gut.

I can order comprehensive microbiome analysis tests from Microba who are the UK leaders in state of the art microbiome testing at this time. Tests cover full microbiome ecosystem mapping, gut physiology panel & pathogen screening and produce evidence based insights into what can be done once results are in. Things like intestinal permeability, low functioning immune system, poor diversity, infections, bacteria and inflammation can all be measured.

You will receive a test kit to your home for a simple stool sample collection from the privacy of your own bathroom. Results will take approximately 3-4 weeks to come back and you will have access to an online portal to explore your results. Tests are available with or without my interpretation to include nutritional advice and tips moving forward on your health journey.
